What we do

M2 Fence LLC builds fences, gates, railings and hardscaping for homeowners, landlords and commercial properties around Chicago. The work runs from a horizontal composite privacy run down a city gangway, to white vinyl along a suburban side yard, to a welded steel drive gate closing off a lot at the end of the day.

We build in wood, composite, vinyl and metal — and because we fabricate as well as install, gates and railings get made to the opening and the steps in front of us rather than ordered in a stock size and cut down. Hardscaping is on the sign for the same reason: the walkway, the patio and the concrete steps are part of the same yard as the fence, and doing them together means one schedule and one crew that has to answer for the result.

What we tell you at the estimate is what we build. If a material is wrong for your yard we will say so, and if there is a cheaper way to get what you actually want we will price that too. Estimates are free and come to you in writing.

Where we work

Chicago and the surrounding suburbs — the city neighborhoods and the south and southwest towns, including Chicago, Cicero, Berwyn, Oak Park, Oak Lawn, Burbank and more. Each town has its own page covering what fence work tends to look like there.

How we work

What you can hold us to

Every material, one contractor

Wood, composite, vinyl and metal, plus the gates, railings and paver work that go with them. You are not managing three trades to finish one yard.

Built to last

Posts set to depth, welded gate frames, panels racked to the grade of the yard. The parts that decide whether a fence is still straight in five years are the parts nobody sees.

Custom gates and railings

Gates and railings are fabricated to the opening and the steps we measured, rather than trimmed down from a stock size.

Residential and commercial

From a back-yard privacy run behind a bungalow to a drive gate on a working lot, with hardware chosen for how often it gets used.

On site

The same sequence on every job

From the first measurement to the walkthrough at the end, this is how the work runs.

  1. 01

    Measure and free estimate

We walk the property with you, measure the run, talk through height, material and where the gates want to go, and put a written price in your hands. No charge and no obligation.

  2. 02

    Material and layout

You pick the material and style. We mark the line you want the fence to follow, and utility locates get called before anyone puts a shovel in the ground.

  3. 03

    Posts and footings

Posts set to depth and plumbed, below the frost line where we are digging, or anchored to base plates where we are working on concrete. This is the part nobody sees and the only part that decides whether the run is still straight in five years.

  4. 04

    Panels and fabrication

Panels are hung to the grade of your yard rather than dropped flat on top of it, and steel work is fabricated to the measurements we took on site.

  5. 05

    Gates and hardware

Gates hang on their own reinforced posts. Hinges, latches and drop rods get adjusted until the gate swings clean and closes on its own line.

  6. 06

    Cleanup and walkthrough

Old fence and debris hauled out, the work area swept, and a walk of the finished job with you before we leave.
